Project Lydia is a fair-trade economic development/education project that lifts women and children in remote villages in Uganda out of the worst of poverty, restores purpose, hope, and dignity. Currently Project Lydia empowers and employs 350 women and currently has sent over 750 children to school.

These bracelets are made by a widowed woman named Akello and her family. Akello has 7 children and 6 grandchildren. Her work with Project Lydia gives her hope that she can keep her school aged children and grandchildren in school.
