Artisan Card Mxolisi Ngwane

The Woza Moya Artist’s Card initiative helps our local artists earn an ongoing passive income.

Mxolisi Ngwane is a South African artist who was born and raised in KwaZulu Natal. He lives with his wife and two children in Kwa Knyswa. Mxolisi is a self-taught artist that is inspired by nature and other artists’ work. His first medium was pencil work. He starting making art in Grade 8. He was inspired by a fellow pupil who was very talented and he encouraged him to get started. Mxolisi started drawing cartoons, inspired by the anime series dragon balls. He then started drawing celebrities.

Woza Moya, an income generation project of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trusts, assists over 350 crafters impacted by HIV helping them earn a sustainable income. Woza Moya  makes exceptional crafts that are traditionally inspired and are a reflection of the unique culture and heritage
